Did you know that if you become incapable of making decisions about your finances and financial affairs, generally, no one else can do it for you – not even your spouse or children?
This can cause a particular problem if others need to access your funds for you quickly. In such a case someone would need to apply for an order from the Court of Protection. The procedure is time consuming and costly.
But there is another way. You can appoint someone you trust (or more than one person) to be your attorney under a Lasting Power of Attorney document.
