We were disappointed not to hold the annual Dawson Hart Easter Egg Hunt on Good Friday when we had hoped to raise lots of money for our Charity of the Year, the Sussex Support Service. However, with the introduction of lockdown for the whole country, it was not meant to be this year!
In the preceding few months and with the help from Tesco customers and a generous Sponsorship from Gavin May of Shelleys Estates we had collected a plentiful number of Easter Eggs for the children as prizes for taking part in our Easter Egg Hunt at the Uckfield Rugby Club.
You may be wondering what happened to all the Easter Eggs. Margaret Dode-Angel, who runs the Sussex Support Service, delivered some of the eggs to the carers at the Charity and she said they were overjoyed to receive a Good Friday treat. As we still had some Easter Eggs left (and with the blessing of Margaret and Gavin) we distributed the remainder between the Children’s Respite Trust and the staff in the children’s ward at the Eastbourne District Hospital. We were pleased we could bring a smile to those in need and were able to help the Children’s Respite Trust Smile Appeal.
Laura Manton, Business Director of Dawson Hart Solicitors caught up with Margaret this week. Sussex Support Service is not able to offer its usual services at the moment but Margaret is keen to open and adapt to the new climate as soon as she can. We are very keen to do everything we can to help her. We may have to be more creative with our fundraising this year and Laura already has some ideas up her sleeve. Watch this space!
