Dawson Hart raise £2350 for Children with Cancer Fund!

On November 15th, we laced up our dancing shoes, fired up the grill, and came together as a community for an unforgettable evening of fun and music. Our charity Barn Dance was an incredible success, raising an impressive £2,350 for the Children with Cancer Fund.

The Cinque Ports was buzzing with energy from the moment guests arrived. The fantastic Catsfield Steamers led the night with their lively tunes, getting everyone on their feet. From seasoned dancers to absolute beginners, the dance floor was packed with smiles and a sense of togetherness that perfectly captured the spirit of the event.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of local businesses and individuals, we had a table brimming with prizes ranging from hampers and gift vouchers to unique experiences. The raffle was as exciting as the dancing, with many guests walking away with fantastic goodies while supporting a great cause.

Our BBQ featured a menu packed with crowd favourites—juicy burgers, perfectly grilled sausages, and a variety of vegetarian options—making it a hit with attendees of all ages. Our homemade desserts were the perfect complement to the main course.

The true highlight of the evening, of course, was the incredible £2,400 raised for the Children with Cancer Fund. Every pound donated will go toward supporting families in need, and we are truly proud to support such an amazing charity. Events like this remind us of the power of coming together to make a meaningful impact and how strong our community is.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this event possible: Our two sponsors The Stores DEPT and Vince Taylor Tofts, the volunteers who helped organise the dance, the generous donors who contributed to the raffle, the talented Catsfield Steamers for their wonderful performance, and, of course, everyone who came along to support us.

This barn dance was a shining example of how much good can come from a bit of music, a lot of laughter, and a shared commitment to helping others. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
