It just wouldn’t be Easter without Dawson Hart's Easter Egg Hunt which took place on Good Friday.
This year the Easter Bunny was joined by Wilfy the bear who made lots of children smile whilst raising money for St Wilfrids Hospice in Eastbourne. Everyone was able to enjoy the sunshine at the Uckfield Rugby Club and the children enjoyed a variety of games, a bouncy castle, balloon making, face-painting and some of the dads were even seen making pop up puppets!
St Wilfrid’s was founded in 1982 to support, empower and care for people at the end of life, to influence quality of end of life care in all settings, and to encourage our wider community to be concerned about death, dying and loss.
They provide hospice care to the communities of Eastbourne, Pevensey, Seaford, Heathfield, Uckfield, and everywhere in between.
Last year, 316 people were admitted to their Inpatient Unit, 1124 people were supported by their Nurse Line, and 532 new people were supported at home.
Laura Manton, Director at Dawson Hart said “We have been long standing supporters of St Wilfrids and often take part in their Will making scheme. This year it means even more to us. Victoria Regan, a Director at Dawson Hart, lost her father last year. He was looked after by the hospice which he co-founded back in 1981.”
“Yet again we have been overwhelmed with the support we have received from local businesses especially AllSorts and Bishops Butchers in the High Street Uckfield. Knockhatch, Ashdown Llama Park, Freedom Leisure, Funabounds and other local attractions donated tickets to our tombola – so a huge thank you to them for helping us make the children’s tombola a success”
“With the help of a great fundraising team at Dawson Hart and their families we were able to raise £860 on the day. Thank you to everyone who came along to support us.”
So if you want to join in the fun next year please make a note in your diary for Friday 30th March 2018!
